Tutoring and Online Course Charges

The company can help advise its respective tutors, with respect to the tuition charges, nonetheless, the hourly rate is ultimately set and agreed upon by the tutor and his/her discretion. This will also include the course charges that will be set by the online instructor/ course creator.

Any emerged concerns or inquiries, with regard to the charges of the tuition classes can be redirected to the tutor or online instructor himself/herself, in the very first instance.

It might be worth mentioning that the tutors or course creators may add surcharges, should he/she dedicate additional time, outside the mutually agreed and elapsed time, between the tutor or student; providing that - the tutor or course creator has reasonable or concrete evidence and that such proof is submitted to the company on time. It is expected that such a plausible arrangement needs to be discussed with the company in detail, before deciding the customer’s expense.

It is expected that once a tutoring session is booked between the tutor and the student, the student and the tutor ought to honour the scheduled arrangement and commit to participating, during the mutually agreed learning sessions. In the case that a student is delayed or joins the session belatedly, either frequently or rarely, it will then be upon the tutor’s discretion to incorporate any further surcharges for the unused or extra time. The tutor will inherently be required to raise such incidents via written correspondence and submit them to the company, so that a decision would be made accordingly.

Suited Tutor Charges

All payments need to be conducted electronically via our secure and highly encrypted payment gateways, such as Stripe or BACS payments.

The total cost of the tuition or course fees will be illustrated evidently on the Suited Tutor’s site, before parents/guardians or (mature) students conducting any in-advance online payments. Please note: depending on the payment method, additional surcharges may occur. For instance, should a transaction is going to be completed via an external third-party vendor, such as Stripe, then an additional processing fee may be added, on top of the original price.

Furthermore, classes can exclusively commence, if and only if an online payment has been conducted in advance, so that the company can honour, reward or compensate the tutor or online instructor financially, for their arranged commitment, which may include a tutoring class or course.

Should any disputes or further user aspirations need to be explored, then written correspondence can be redirected to info@suitedtutor.com.

Billing and Payments

All payments need to be conducted electronically via our secure, highly encrypted and affiliated payment gateways.

For scheduled tutoring sessions and purchased courses via the Suited Tutor website, invoices will be automatically forwarded to the customers’ mailbox.

The payment methods that are acceptable on this site can be BACS payments, alluding to debit or credit card transactions, along with other third-party payment providers, such as Stripe. The mature student (above the age of 18), parent, and tutor, including course creators, may be required to allow their debit or credit card details to be stored on the Suited Tutor’s system, so that payments can be conducted automatically or for future transactions.

Should payments get completed via third-party providers, such as Stripe, then transactions will be processed via the payment gateway’s processing policies.

Should pay-outs are completed via debit or credit cards, it may take between 1 to 5 business days, to reach the associated recipient.

Cancellation and Refunds

These are the standard cancellation, absence and refund terms, pertaining to all vested parties, associated with the platform’s users, such as parents, students and/or tutors, along with online instructors.

Any cancellation charges are explicitly set by the tutors or course creators, in the event of the customer’s absence, correlated to the student, by not notifying the tutor for the mutually agreed tutoring session; such as, but not limited to not providing at least a 24 hours notice in advance or not honouring their mutual agreement. Please note: should a decision is going to be reached from the tutor’s perspective; it needs to be communicated and relayed to Suited Tutor’s communication channel, either via phone or preferably via a written correspondence, for audit and trail purposes.

A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required and needs to be communicated to the vested parties, for any prospective session rescheduling or unforeseen cancellations.

In the event the customer/student notifies the tutor in less than the required 24-hour period, then the customer is expected to pay 50% of the planned session’s cost and the customer can be compensated the remaining amount.

Should the tutor wish to cancel or reschedule the session with the student, then he/she needs to honour the same agreement and provide notice within (minimum) 24 hours.

In the event, that the student fails to attend the session, taking into account that all the necessary arrangements have been met, (for instance the customer has made a payment in advance), and all required details have been communicated to both parties; or without the student providing (at minimum) a notice of 3 hours in advance, then the student/customer is liable for covering the full financial value of the class.

When a refund process gets initiated by the customer, then the payment will be returned to the customer’s bank account, from which the payment was originally derived. If the relevant bank card has been cancelled, lost or replaced, then the indicated credit will be returned via BACS to the relevant customer’s account.

Should the tutor exhibit any signs of inappropriate or unprofessional behaviour, then the customer is entitled to reach the Site’s communication channel at info@suitedtutor.com, with the intent to raise a refund or dispute process. As long the customer’s case is viable and clearly evidenced. Then it will be upon the company’s discretion to honour the claim and further investigate it, so as to help deliver a fair and legitimate decision.

Should the tutor fail to join the agreed session, amongst the vested parties, related to the tutor and student, then a full refund will be initiated.

It may not be feasible to return payments to alternative bank accounts or customers in question.

Contract Termination

Should the tutor, course creator, parent or student divulge themselves or get involved in any unsolicited or unethical practices, as seen above, alluding but not limited to the “Prohibited Activities” section, or make any secretive or contingent agreements for their personal financial or commercial gain, without Suited Tutor’s awareness or full consent, then, this will result in imminent contract dismissal from the website.

To find out more about Suited Tutor’s Disciplinary Policy and Procedures, you can click here.

In addition, should the contract breach expose the company’s reputation and/or its vested stakeholders’ interests, including unauthorised personal details, then legal procedures and legitimate course of actions can be initiated by the company against such individual(s), so as to protect and safeguard the company’s intellectual property and assets.

Should the tutor or course creator make the decision to voluntarily terminate his/her employment contract or services with Suited Tutor, then it is expected by the tutor or online instructor, to provide at least one month’s (written) confirmation or notice, prior to any forthcoming scheduled sessions.

Tutor Status

Tutors, who may be classified as ‘freelancers’ or ‘self-employed’ individuals, are not subject to any direct control, supervision or direction, by the company or perhaps by the student.

Tutors can be engaged by prospective or existing customers, referring to students or parents, for their particular skillset and academic background, along with their tutoring/teaching experience; whereby, tutors are expected to take responsibility for the manner in which the learning services, including the tutoring method, pertaining to remote or face-to-face classes – are going to be delivered. It is exclusively upon the tutors’ discretion – how the classes or courses are going to be delivered, depending upon and fulfilling the customer’s expectations.

Proceeding, it is the tutors’ responsibility to agree upon the teaching/tutoring method or place, whether the classes will be facilitated either remotely or perhaps embracing the traditional approach, alluding to face-to-face. Tutors need to mutually agree with the students/parents upon the times, date, frequency and/or duration of the sessions, including any complimentary/trial services, (offered by the tutors), so as to effectively tackle the students’/parents’ aspirations or arisen expectations. Tutors also agree to adhere to delivering sessions, in compliance with the best industry standards or the UK schools’ curriculum.

VAT Terms

Educational services that are delivered by tutors using the Suited Tutor platform, do not attract VAT, thus, such costs will not become evident on invoices, when sent to parents or students, on the tutors’ behalf.

Company’s fees may be VAT exempted, nevertheless, should such fees become subject to VAT, then the amount will be clearly displayed on students’ and/or parents’ disseminated invoices.
