  4. Tutor Messaging Guidelines: Dos and Don’ts for a Safe and Positive Experience

We're thrilled to introduce our passionate educators to a cutting-edge internal messaging platform - that will revolutionise communication with parents and students. This powerful and innovative tool is designed to make your interactions seamless and foremost more efficient.

In addition, to help ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone, we've set some clear guidelines on what 'can' and 'cannot' be shared. By following these ground rules, you'll not only uphold your professionalism, adhere to the "Tutor's Code of Conduct and Ethics" policy and safeguard your reputation, but at the same time contribute to a secure and respectful environment for all.

Dos:

1. Encourage Open Dialogue

Use the messaging platform to discuss lesson aspirations, academic goals, and class schedules with your students and parents. Engaging in meaningful conversations about a student’s learning objectives - helps tailor your sessions to their needs and supports their educational growth.

2. Share Constructive Feedback

Provide helpful and encouraging feedback to students and their parents. This includes discussing progress, offering advice on improving performance, and celebrating achievements. Constructive feedback contributes positively to the student's learning experience and builds strong relationships.

3. Schedule Lessons Efficiently

Utilise the platform to coordinate lesson times and confirm appointments. Clear communication about scheduling ensures that both you and your students are organised and prepared for each session.

4. Keep Conversations Professional

Maintain a professional and yet welcoming tone in all communications. Your interactions should reflect the high standards of Suited Tutor and contribute to a respectful and productive learning environment.

Don’ts:

1. Avoid Sharing Private and Sensitive Information

Do not request or share personal information such as email addresses, phone/mobile numbers, social media handles, bank account details, passports, or national IDs. Protecting the privacy of all users is paramount, and such information should never be exchanged through the current messaging platform.

2. Do Not Negotiate Rates Outside the Platform

Refrain from discussing or negotiating tutoring rates that involve external platforms or cash transactions. All financial matters should be handled electronically through Suited Tutor, to ensure transparency, mutual respect and to safeguard your own security.

3. Steer Clear of External Links and Apps

Do not share or request WhatsApp, Viber, or Telegram links/contact details, or promote suspicious websites. These actions could expose users to spam or security risks and undermine the trust placed in our encrypted platform.

4. Avoid Any Form of Harassment or Unprofessional Conduct

Maintain respect and professionalism in all interactions. Harassment, bullying, or any form of unprofessional behaviour is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate action against the offending account.

5. Do Not Use the Platform for Non-Educational Purposes

Keep all communications relevant to tutoring and educational support. The platform is designed for educational interactions and should not be used for unrelated activities or personal matters and gain.
